Letter from the Candidate

Dear Supporter,

The 16th District encompasses the near Northwest side of Milwaukee. Although the boundaries are not linear, the district basically runs from the Milwaukee River to 27th Street, and I-94 to Locust Street. This is a very diverse, interesting and exciting part of the City. It is also an area that is desperately in need of strong leadership. Crime, poverty, joblessness and disinvestment have created a difficult environment for anyone to prosper. It is time that our community come together to change our future and our children's future. This is an extremely important part of Milwaukee, and the success of the City depends greatly on our ability to improve the conditions of this area.

I have lived in this district for the past 25 years, and I know the people of this community are ready for change. We need and want meaningful jobs and better schools. We want to live in safe, secure and friendly neighborhoods. We want to be proud to live in Milwaukee! These things are not too much to ask, and I intend to make sure that improvements are made.

Being a husband and a father of two boys who both attend Milwaukee public schools, I know and understand the challanges of raising a family in this city. I am a strong leader and problem-solver who has devoted my life to making Milwaukee a better place to live. The 16th District is my home. My mother lived in this district, and so did my grandmother. I am a business owner who cares about Milwaukee, and I am deeply concerned about the direction that our neighborhood is heading. I have watched conditions getting worse for all of us for far too long. It is time to make a change.

Change is never easy, in fact, it is often hard work. I am up for the challenge, and ready to work hard to make our neighborhood strong again.
